Originally from London, Dave moved to Devon to “escape the rat race”. This didn’t prevent him from going pro back in the 80’s— touring Europe and Scandinavia. Performing in a variety of bands and even reaching the music charts at one stage in his busy career!

Dave captures Simons’ fills and technique as closely as possible. He says “Simon Kirke is very much in the same bag as Ringo Starr— playing just right for the track… many have underestimated his ability, but this guy is simply amazing and knows all there is to know about space.”

In between Free & Co. gigs, Dave is a respected music journalist and has contributed to several International music publications including: Music Mart and Drummer.
